Negril, Jamaica
Negril is home to the world-famous Seven Mile Beach. True to its name, this stretch of seven miles is home to several of our favorite all-inclusive resorts. From white sands and crystal blue waters to beachfront cafes and inviting rum bars, the beach has something for all ages to enjoy.
As perfect as the beach is, the cliffs of Negril are just as enchanting. Here is where you will find the majority of the adults-only resorts due to its privacy and beauty. But not to worry! If you want to socialize, there are a few notable cliffside beach bars, including our favorite, Ivan’s, that provide the perfect location to take in one of Negril’s famous sunsets.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Ocho Rios, an adventurers dream, is full of rainforest, rivers, and waterfalls. The most famous waterfall on the island, if not the entire Caribbean, Dunn’s River Falls is in Ocho Rios. This 180-meter waterfall complete with lagoon pools, is located in the Jamaican jungle. Zip-lining, hiking, exploring, and more are all available within 30 minutes from every Ocho Rios hotel.
Originally a fishing village, Ocho Rios has grown into a well-known port of call for cruise ships with its bustling economy surrounding the port. The Ocho Rios Craft Market can be found here and is one of the largest on the island. It is a great place to stock up on all things Jamaican.
Montego Bay, Jamaica
If you’ve been to Jamaica, you’ve likely been to Montego Bay. The main international tourist airport is located here, and it is often everyone’s first stop on their inaugural visit to the island.
Built around the beautiful bay of the same name, the town of Montego Bay is a colorful display of Caribbean life in full swing. Most of the hotels are set on the outskirts of town, where lush rolling hills are separated from the calm turquoise waters by large expanses of green grass and stretches of golden sands.
There is plenty to do in this part of Jamaica if you decide to leave the cushy confines of your Montego Bay hotel or villa. Being centrally located, day tours to almost every corner of the island are possible.
